Today is Valentines Day and I believe that this day is not all about romantic love. Love can be in all forms and sizes. This is not only shared to our family and friends but we can spread the love to anyone.
Last February 8, 2015, Unilab Foundation launched "United for Down," a long term health program for Persons with Down Syndrome.
Through the love and support of volunteers, doctors, partners and family, access to health services was provided to over 150 children and adults with down syndrome.
I realized that the love and understanding of the society can play a crucial part in everyone's journey because with proper medical attention and support from family and the community, people with down syndrome can live a normal life. Our love for them can make a huge difference. I believe this is the greatest kind of love.
Free medical check-up, vaccination, laboratory and x-ray tests were provided. Free eyeglasses and medicines were given too.
Sandbox also provided art and craft activities for the attendees that kept them busy and entertained.
It was indeed a successful event headed by the Unilab Foundation in partnership with the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines.
The 13th National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month Celebration was also highlighted different activities such as the Tee-up for DOWN golf tournament last February 6, 2015 at Tagaytay Midland, Dine for DOWN a charity dinner on Feb. 27, 2015 at Highlands Prime Steakhouse, Pasig City, and Happy Walk 2015, All for DOWN.
Happy Walk 2015, All for DOWN is a whole day program which welcomes all Down Syndrome supporters, members, and the general public on Feb. 22, 2015 at the Skydome, SM City North Edsa. For more details, check this out.
